CURRICULUM VITAE
Hyperbaric Medicine, General Surgery
Dr. Frederick Cramer, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Fred’
graduated as an M.D., 1969 at University of Vermont and continued his medical
education at the Medical Center Hospital with and Internship and Residency in
Surgery, completing in 1974. Dr. Fred’ then joined the United States Air Force
(“USAF”) in 1976, the same year as he passed his Boards and became a Fellow of
the American Board of Surgery. His skills led him to become the Air Force
Association (Texas) Physician Scientist of the Year in 1984.
Dr. Fred’ then focused his attention on aviation medicine, with a particular
emphasis on hyperbaric oxygen therapy during his years with the USAF. This
passion continued in his civilian practice and he focused on the emerging uses
of HBOT adjunctive to surgery. He received his Fellowship training (12
months) at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine in San Antonio, 1979-80. Dr. Fred’ has been actively involved with the
International Congress of Hyperbaric Medicine (“ICHM”) and currently serves as
the ICHM Secretary and Treasurer. His book “Hyperbaric Surgery: Perioperative
Care” (Best Publishing) is considered mandatory reading for all physicians
interested in HBOT.
Dr. Fred’ is a licensed physician and surgeon in six States. Currently, his
specific focus is researching and proving up further uses for HBOT, with a
particular attention in the use of HBOT for head injuries. wwW.sfhbo.com .
